Ovarian Cancer

Ovarian cancer is a malignant tumor that arises from the ovaries, the female reproductive organs responsible for producing eggs and hormones. It is often called a "silent killer" because symptoms are vague and usually appear at an advanced stage. Early signs may include bloating, abdominal discomfort, loss of appetite, and urinary urgency, which are often mistaken for common digestive or urinary problems. Diagnosis involves pelvic examination, ultrasound, CT scans, and tumor markers such as CA-125. Treatment typically includes surgery to remove the tumor and affected tissues, followed by chemotherapy. Early detection greatly improves outcomes, but many cases are diagnosed late due to non-specific symptoms.
